Following an election held last year, two new personnel have joined the Design In Mental Health Network Board.
Steve Jameson, property services director for Red Rose Corporate Services (RRCS), has worked either directly for, or in partnership with, NHS Trusts for 27 years, and has ‘a wealth of experience’ within mental health. RRCS provides a full range of estates and facilities services to Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust, one of England’s largest mental health and community Trusts. He also provides advice and support to major capital projects, and was a key contributor to LCFT’s new flagship mental health facility in Blackpool, The Harbour.
Cath Lake is an architect with over 15 years’ practical experience in designing and delivering mental healthcare facilities for both private clients and NHS Trusts, and is Mental Health lead for P+HS Architects. Her experience includes detailed design and construction expertise relating to dementia, acute, learning disability, CAMHS, secure, and specialist services.
Both were welcomed as new Board members at the DIMHN 2015 AGM, which was held during the IHEEM Healthcare Estates conference and exhibition in Manchester last October. The AGM also saw Kevin Gorman, one of the Network’s founder members, step down from the DIMHN Board. To show the Network’s appreciation for his contribution, President, Joe Forster, took the occasion to present the Britplas chairman with a piece of commemorative glassware as ‘a thank you’. Before handing this over he said: “I’ve known Kevin for about 10 years. The Design In Mental Health Network is about the same age; so he was in at the start. What immediately struck me with him though was that he really ‘got’ what the Network was about – serving the needs of service-users, carers, relatives, and staff. Kevin’s company is a success because of his appreciation of that, and the Network is a success because of his input.”
