Medical Architecture has won its first commission in Scotland, that will see the relocation of NHS Borders’ Mental Health Rehabilitation unit.
The East and West Brigs ward will move from Tweed Road in Galashiels to Crumhaugh House in Hawick. The project was won after a successful bid with Kier through Frameworks Scotland 2. Director at Medical Architecture, Paul Yeomans, said: “We are really looking forward to starting this project. It will breathe new life into an empty building. We are excited to be working for a new client, on a new framework, and in a new business region. We look forward to strengthening our relationship with Kier Scotland through this framework.”
The refurbishment of the two-storey property will provide 13 patients with high quality, fit-for-purpose accommodation, offering a therapeutic environment to aid recovery. Medical Architecture has just embarked on developing the design.
