Archus’s continuing role in NHS estates guidance

Healthcare infrastructure specialist, Archus, has been re-appointed as the lead supplier to NHS England for the delivery of the next phase of the NHS Estates Technical Standards and Guidance Programme.

The firm says this reaffirms its position as leading experts in the production of national and international healthcare technical standards and guidance documents’. Archus has successfully supported the programme since 2019, where it has since overseen the development and publishing of the NHS Net Zero Building Standard, alongside several other HBNs, HTMs, and strategically important guidance documents. Its reappointment for a further four years, following a competitive tendering process, will see the healthcare infrastructure consultancy continue to provide a broad range of specialist skills and support to the core team at NHS England as part of the delivery of 13 priority documents, and the scoping phase of a further 13 documents.

As lead supplier, Archus will be supported by a range of carefully selected organisations and professionals who will undertake roles as subject-matter experts, ensuring the programme benefits from the most experienced, capable, and qualified array of expertise in the industry. Partners include HKS, Corstorphine & Wright, Square Gain, Hydrock, Hoare Lea, Part B, Mott MacDonald, Atos, MTS, Akerlof, WT Partnership, Waterwise, and The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction.

Chris Turner, director and head of Technical Advisory at Archus (pictured), said, “We are thrilled to have been entrusted with the role of lead supplier for the next phase of the NHS Estates Technical Standards and Guidance Programme. At Archus, we are committed to driving positive change in the healthcare sector and we are very much looking forward to working alongside NHS teams, and an exceptional range of partners, to bring further innovation to the already successful programme.”
